Plan, Texture and Pattern

Texture:

Texture is the quiet narrator who whispers tales of warmth, coziness, and elegance. The textures we select define the mood of a space, from the velvety feel of marble countertops to the soft underfoot of plush rugs. Combining different textures makes a room more complicated and intriguing, creating a multisensory experience.

Natural Fibers: Give in to the coziness of cotton, jute, or wool. These materials offer a hint of nature indoors in addition to adding tactile appeal.

Effortless Surfaces: For a sleek and classy look, choose polished and streamlined surfaces like metallic finishes or glass. There's an airiness and openness to these textures because of the way they reflect light.

Rough and Distressed: Rough textures like distressed wood, exposed brick, or textured wallpaper can give an area a more eclectic or rustic feel. These components give the area a feeling of authenticity and antiquity.





Patterns:

The visual melodies that dance over floors, walls, and furniture to give a space vitality and rhythm are known as patterns. Patterns, when employed carefully, may infuse any interior with a variety of moods and visual excitement.

Geometric Precision: Modernity and order are evoked by the use of geometric shapes and clean lines in patterns. Modern flair can be added to your room by incorporating geometric patterns into furniture upholstery, rugs, or wallpaper.

Natural Motives: Patterns that draw inspiration from nature, like florals, botanicals, or animal designs, infuse interior spaces with an organic charm. These designs have the power to soften space and establish a link to the outside world.

Bold Claims: Use large, dramatic patterns to embrace the drama.Whether it's an audacious area rug or a feature wall covered in colorful wallpaper, bold patterns exude confidence and become the room's main focal point.

The secret to great interior design is striking the right delicate balance between pattern and texture. Even while it can be tempting to overindulge in your preferred patterns and textures, careful planning creates a harmonious and well-coordinated design.

Chings book is that, the concept of a point in spatial organization and design, describing it as a static, centralized position in space. It highlights its visual significance when placed within a visual field, and the concept of two points connecting them, which can define an axis perpendicular to the line. An example could be a living room axis.
